Since I played about 6 play-throughs of the original Borderlands and all the DLC except the Claptrap one it’s pretty safe to say that I’m a fan of the game. So when it was announced that there would be a special collectors edition with a god damn loot chest in it, I immediately preordered! I had $10 credit on Amazon, making the final price $130 with free release date shipping. While the price is pretty steep for a collectors edition, I think it’s worth it. There’s loads of cool items, which I’m about to show you, since my friend Fox asked for some pictures. So on with the pics, in no real order.
The box itself has a really cool design on it, following with the art style of the game.
When you first open the box the custom designed game case (left) and art book (right) are on top.
The front and back of the Borderlands 2 steel game case.
The front and the inside of the Borderlands 2 art book.
A panoramic poster thingy showing all the enemies and things in Borderlands 2. It reminds me of my penis, it’s so long I had to take two pictures to show you all of it 😛
These look like a collection of stickers. For whatever reason I like to keep stuff like this in good condition. I’ll probably never stick ’em anywhere, probably, which is why I’ve kept them in their packet. I still have the GT 5 car model in it’s box. I’m sure if I was rich I’d be a hoarder.
This is pretty cool, it has some information about some of the enemies. It’s Sir Hammerlock’s field journal. In the game he is composing an almanac of baddies, I guess this is part of it. I doubt it has all the enemies in here, there’s way too many!
This is a cloth map, again unopened because I know I’m going to spill my coke/caramel vodka/jizz on it -_-
I wonder who got number 1? I wonder how many will be resales. I ordered back in May, if you wanted this edition and didn’t get one, it’s your own fault 😛
I believe these are called lithographs. I guess they’re mini posters. Pretty cool.
Aaaand the moment you’ve been waiting for, the loot chest itself. I just realized as I upload these I didn’t really give a side view. I’m not sure if you can get a sense of scale, but it is just a little wider than the average American 😛 It’s made of some quality hard plastic and there is lots of detailing on it like scratches and scuffs.
Once again, I refuse to take things out their box! I still have my android figurine in his box. The bobblehead looks really cool though.
Overall I really think the Ultimate Loot Chest edition was worth it. It had a lot of really cool stuff and really, at the end of the day, collectors editions for for fanboys/girls anyway.
